How likely is the Tea Party going to end up being a 3rd major poltical party?

I hear about that the Tea Party is growing at an explosive rate. If it becomes big enough, will it change America into a multiparty system? Or will just be something that will die out? I heard that according to polls of 10,000 , more people would vote Tea Party instead of Republican party.

The GOP will never allow it.

  2. iamhi0 says:

Somewhere in the very unlikely to fucking never range.

  3. Free At Last says:

it may fill the void created when the gop died.

  4. . says:

Just another minor party to ignore.

  5. ☼Solar☼ says:

I doubt it seriously since their objective runs paralleled political to the GOP. In fact; one would be hard pressed to find a Tea Party member who is Moderate of Progressively independent.

  6. TC says:

With the recent rulings from the activist supreme court, the tea party is set to become the official political wing of FOX News.

  7. Pfo says:

I don’t think it will. Their are 50 political parties in the US, and we only hear about the two that are well funded. The TEA party would have to get funded, and the only financier courting them is Republicans that want to pick them up. If anything, the TEA party will splinter between Republicans and its own indendent minority party that is about as powerful and important as the Libertarian or Green parties.

  8. Douglas C says:

The Tea Party is just a very small group of very loud and very white people who just want to complain about big government and hold up posters that satirize Obama as everything that he’s not. When asked questions by media reporters, most of the protesters don’t have a very basic knowledge of the facts. They only repeat the talking points they’ve heard.

  9. Vote says:

I believe it will be, even though the Rep. party will try to defeat. We have had enough with the Rep. Republicans set bad examples for the people of America. It is time for a new 3rd party!

  10. Face of the GOP says:

If it becomes third party it will be to the modern GOP what Nader was to Gore and Perot was to Bush Sr: a political coffin nail.

  11. jonds says:

Very unlikely. I can see a third party forming but not making an impact without major funding from the ones they are trying to change and that just isn’t going to happen.

  12. DONALD T says:

I PRAY THEY DON’T BECAUSE THAT WILL ONLY BENEFIT THE DEMOCRATS. I WOULD MUCH RATHER SEEM THEM ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT POSSIBLE CANDIDATES THEY LIKE IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES

  13. Brandon says:

The Tea Party isn’t a political party.

If it were to become one, they’d infiltrate that also so the agenda moves forward as planned. It won’t last long though.

  14. Paul T says:

As likely as Mel Gibson being welcomed at a Bar Mitzvah.

Have you taken a look at the subject topics at their convention – extreme doesn’t begin to identify them.

  15. Facts Enrage Dembots says:

Unlikely, what is more likely is that they will be 1 of the 2.. (R)’s and (T)’s…(D)’s are committing political suicide.

  16. Reptilians Attack Earth says:

Teabaggin for the corporations!!!! With the new ruling by the supreme court jesters I’m sure it will thrive.

  17. JohnN says:

Liberals want it to become a third party because it would split up the Republican votes and Republicans would never win again. I think the Tea Party people are smart enough to realize this, and I doubt they create a third party.

I do think it could get bigger and bigger. The views of the Tea Party movement, make a lot of sense. I would think over half the country would agree with a smaller government, lower taxes, and a balanced budget. In my opinion, the Tea Party Movement is an effort to bring the Republicans back into orbit. If the Republicans would just follow what their party is supposed to represent, they wouldn’t have lost power in the first place. I think most people in this country are conservative.

  18. Couman says:

Not at all. Admittedly the Republican party is having a bit of an identity crisis, but still no. The “Tea Party” is just a joke that has been carried way, way too far.
